Ten NOC girls net All-Ohio honors
COLUMBUS -- Northeast Ohio Conference girls basketball players were well represented on The Associated Press All-Ohio teams in Division I, earning 10 selections.
Twinsburg freshman Malina Howard, a 6-foot-4 center, was named first-team All-Ohio. She averaged 16.1 points in leading the Tigers to the NOC River Division championship.
Mayfield senior Lauren Gatto, a 6-3 center, was a second-team honoree. She averaged 18.0 points for the Wildcats.
North Royalton forward Jessie Tamerlano, a 6-0 forward, earned a third-team selection. She averaged 19.7 points for the Bears.
Special mention honors were given to Brunswick's Mikaela Lengal, Elyria's Tai Dotson, Solon's Dana Banda and Strongsville's Brittany Reddy.
Rounding out the NOC's gold rush on the honorable mention list were Brush's Natachia Watkins, Mayfield's Hope Mancini and Twinsburg's Lauren Macer.
The All-Ohio teams are chosen by a statewide media panel of AP members and are considered the highest honor in the sport.
